iwCLL is governed by its membership.
To ensure iwCLL is driven and managed effectively, it is overseen by our Executive Board, comprised of Chair, Deputy Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. The Board supervises all iwCLL activities and research subcommittees, meeting quarterly. It also has specific responsibility for ensuring that our organisation:
- Supports and promotes clinical, translational and basic research on CLL (and related diseases)
- Promotes interaction and co-operation between everyone working in CLL and related scientific areas, including physicians, study groups, health care professionals and scientists
- Ensures that standards are maintained:
- In the diagnosis and treatment of CLL patients.
- Throughout the implementation and/or harmonisation of clinical trials on CLL and related diseases.
- Promotes international awareness of published clinical and scientific knowledge on CLL and related diseases
The Executive is also responsible for overseeing the organisation of our Biennial Meeting, which helps to facilitate these aims.
